In a statement issued yesterday, Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird called for restraint from the conflicting parties.
"Canada commends the continuing efforts of Thai authorities in exercising restraint in order to prevent confrontation and violence, and invites all sides to exercise similar restraint."

I felt these words as not only sublime but also pregnant with timely implications. PM had better present him chocolate in advance, beforehand on February 14.
