この日は食いしん坊さんに誘われて、こちらの鮨を。
味覚の合う食いしん坊さんが絶賛していたこともあり、長らく気になっていたお店です。
不動前「不動前 すし 岩澤」など、いくつかの名店での経験を持つ小池氏が2019年8月に独立オープンされたお店であり、2025年には「寿司百名店」にも選出されていました。
駅周辺と逗子海岸のちょうど真ん中あたりのエリアにお店はあり、街を回遊しながらの訪問です。
予約の18時に伺うと十二分に目の届く6席のカウンターだけであり、恐らくは一回転だけの営業。
独立されて丁寧に鮨を握っておられるような印象を最初から持ちました。
この日は「おまかせコース」を頂き、食べ終えてみると圧倒的な旨さにびっくり。
鮨は大好きなジャンルでもあるのですが、こちらは私の好みにもぴったり、終始丁寧な鮨に感心しながら食べ進めました。
物腰の柔らかい小池氏や気立ての良い店員さんとの会話も楽しく、ついついたくさんの日本酒を飲んでしまう結果に。
それでも食べて飲んで2万円台半ばであり、こんなにお手頃で良いの? と戸惑うような価格帯でした。
こちらで共通しているのは、たおやかな鮨であること。
舌にのせるたびに余韻を残すようなじっくりとした味わいがあり、それが軌を一にするようにコントロールされていました。
印象に残っているネタもたくさんあり、最初の「蛤とじゅんさい」の歯応えの組み合わせ、ポン酢が魚を引き立てる「本アラのしゃぶしゃぶ」、たおやかさを実感できる握りの先頭5兄弟(キス、イカ、マスノスケ、本ミル貝、本マグロ 赤身)、海苔とのバランスを調整したような「雲丹」、ベビーリーフの食感も楽しい「車海老と北寄貝の巻物」、ぷっくりと酒蒸しされた「牡蠣」、会話が止まった「渡り蟹の紹興酒漬け」、包丁入れも美しい「平貝」「エボダイ」「北寄貝」、粒マスタード使いが面白い「イワシ」、食感を楽しむ「赤貝と胡瓜の巻物」、そして鮨屋としての実力を示す「かんぴょう巻」などなど。
正直全部印象に残ったと言っても過言ではなく、「旨い」が渋滞しているような充実した「おまかせコース」でした。
完成度の高い鮨と日本酒に誘われて、いつも以上に会話も盛り上がり、とても楽しい夜に。
こんな鮨を食べるために頑張っているのではないかとあらためて実感できる名店でした。
また行きたいです。
