'24/12 旧知の知人を招待しての観光の旅。知人の希望で箱根で一泊。湯本から強羅まで数ある選択肢の中から自分ひとりでは利用することのないコチラにてディナーを頂きに訪問。若くない身の体調を考慮し席だけ予約。その場でプリフィクスのコースをお願いしたが「苦手・アレルギー」など丁寧に聞かれ、知人は「白子」を「ホタテ」に変更して頂き、スープはコンソメではなく季節の「蕪」をチョイス、たくさんは呑めないながら「ワイン三種」も付けて、シャンパンから、いざ喫食。天井をはじめ何方を見ても異次元な調度品の数々、国内ながら非日常空間。既に「飲み込まれている高齢者ふたり」。全く知らないワケではないが、料理が運ばれてくる度に、その説明と、どのスプーンかフォークを使うかを丁寧に伝えて頂き、まごつかずにいられる安心感。イヤミっぽくならないところも流石。白ワインと頂くアワビは、初めて経験するほど柔らかく、牛フィレに合わせた赤ワインは口当たりがやさしく軽やかで、赤ワインソースの邪魔にならず、相まって美味。数席が埋まっていたが、自分達が最後になってしまうほど、ゆっくりと良い時間を過ごさせて頂きました。シェフをはじめ、すべての皆様に感謝。
