この日のお宿がある千歳市内の寿司屋を検索し、一週前で予約できたお店です。
軽い気持ちでやってきましたが、店内に入ると凛としていて本格的な寿司屋で少々竦みます。こちらへどうぞ案内されたカウンターが、隣と密接していてさらにプレッシャーを感じます。
大将から「お飲み物は?」の問いに「生を二つ」とお願いし、「つまみますか?」の問いに「お願いします」で注文完了です。
お隣の客に辛口を注文され、「おーい。辛口」と奥に声を掛けた後、「私、飲めないんで」と大将は微笑みます。よそ者の我々にでも、近づきすぎず遠ざけずの接客が心地良く、緊張も解けます。
生で喉を潤し、癖の全くない「いわしのなめろう」を頂いた後に「刺し盛」が出され、「イカは山わさびでどうぞ」とのことで、言われる通りに頂くと、スッキリとした辛味で旨い事。山わさびは自生しているものを大将自ら取りに行ったものだそうです。
ここらで芋に変え、時間的にも十分飲めそうなのでボトルでお願いします。当然のように飲み方を尋ねられますので、水割りをお願いします。すると、奥からグラスの水割りが運ばれてきます。いつもは自分たちで割っているのに手間が無く助かります。
この芋の水割りが山わさびに合うこと。山わさびをツマミにグビグビ行ってしまいます。
寿司はどれもネタが瑞々しく、シャリの塩梅もとても良いです。味の濃い白身、そのままの姿を初めて見た「北寄貝」、塩梅の良い煮詰めのトロトロ「穴子」、見た目にも美しく美味しい「鮪」。
茶碗蒸しには梅干しが入っていました。「エッ!」と思われるかもしれませんが、これが合うんですよ。
最後は、ここまで甲殻類抜きでお願いしていたので、私だけ追加します。ネタケースの中で一際目を引いた、見たこともないデカさのシャコ。小樽産とのことでしたがさすがです。そして甘海老とズワイもさすが旨さです。
しっかり頂いたのでここらでお勘定。覚悟の上も一人一万いかないお得さ。料理も当然のことながら、居心地も良く、大変お得なお寿司さんでした。
