Delightfully deliziosissima! Cibo has a great chef putting out a number of dishes, all of which hit the spot! Especially the Sea Bream Poiret! They also have a separate drink menu with a lot more wines to go with your dishes. My wife and I ordered the course which came with appetizers, pasta, main course, dessert and coffee/tea. Here's what we ate:
ASSORTED APPETIZERS Mushroom and Onion Quiche: Excellent, with the mushroom taste accentuated. Chicken and Juliened Carrots: Surprisingly, the julienned crispy and fresh carrots were the main ingredients rather than the chicken. Mashed Potatos with Fish Eggs on Bread: Interesting concept but couldn't really taste the fish eggs. Mixed Vegetables: Very fresh. Pate: I just love pate!
PASTAS Mushroom and Tuna Spaghetti (Tomato Base): Spaghetti was not too soggy but just right. Tart and juicy. Duck Ragu Spaghetti: Not too meaty or oily. Actually kind of light for a ragu.
MAIN COURSES Hida Beef Steak: Tender and juicy. Sea Bream Poiret: The best dish of the night hands down! The hot oil raised the scales without overcooking the flesh. Well done!
DESSERT Tiramisu, Chocolate Gateaux, Raspberry Sorbet, Coffee: I thought the first two were ordinarily delicious, but the sorbet was tart and delicious! Also, good coffee.
So all in all, no complaints about the food and drinks. I was glad to have ordered the fish dish, having seen so many fish dishes on the "today's specials" blackboard. To justify why no full marks, I'll have to say lack of parking, located on a narrow street, and the appearance of the restaurant looks like a casual country restaurant but the cuisine is decidedly higher class. Also, the kitchen can be seen. It's always a treat to watch the chefs at work, but I have to admit that the kitchen seems to be cluttered with a lot of stuff, like a grandparent's attic. I know I'm knitpicking. All in all a great place to feast!
