<2014年3月4日(火)>向島 秀寿司
場所は東武曳舟駅から歩くことになります。行き方はかなりわかりにくいです。駅を西方面に出て、路地をそのまま西方向にまっすぐ進みます。突当りに公園があります。ここを右に曲がり、すぐに左に曲がります。つまり公園を左に見ながら回り込むように進みます。公園が左に終わっても、そのまま突き当りまで進み、左に曲がります。すると大きな通りに出ます。この出たところの信号が「向島1丁目」の信号です。この大きな通りを左に曲がり、しばらく進みます。折を見て通りを横断し、「向島4丁目」の信号の「一つ先」の信号を右に曲がるとこちらのお店が見えます。
この辺りは、向島の料亭街で、黒塗りの車も何台か止まっています。置屋さんもあるようですが、外見はほとんど民家なので、わからないようです。ただ、芸妓さんやおかみさんがいそいそとお座敷に向かうのを見られるのは、夕方の5時前後とのことです。今では向島の料亭も14軒しか残っていないようです。これらは、このお店のご主人に教えていただけました。
やっとのことでお店に着くと、入り口はそんなに風格があるようには見えなかったのですが、入ってみると、こざっぱりとして、つんとしたお酢の香りが漂ってきます。カウンターの上には関取の手形が額に飾られています。麒麟児からいただいたもののようですが、往年の輪島、北の海、若乃花など当時の横綱の手形です。
カウンターに座り、お任せでお願いします。実は、女性の前で格好つけてましたが、こんな本格的なお寿司屋さんなんて初めてだったので、超緊張しまくりです。だって、メニューなんてないんだもん!
まず出てきたお通しは「活きていました」!白魚ではありませんが、「いさざ」というものらしいです。以下出てきたものは・・・

飲み物は、私だけビール1杯とお酒2合とグラス1杯ほど。
これで、二人で25000円でした。
ただ、どれも感動できるメニューぞろいで、手を抜いたものがないのがビックリです。ちょっとこれだけのお店に次回来れるかどうか自信ありませんが、高いレベルのお店の勉強にはなりました。
