An unforgettable atmosphere: A Tofu Kaiseki Lunch right next to the iconic Tokyo Tower
At the foot of Tokyo Tower lies the long-admired “Ukai Tofuya.” This time, I went with four kimono friends for a cheerful lunch gathering.
It was raining that day, but honestly, the drizzle only added charm. At one point I thought, “Wait… did they order this rain as part of the experience?” We chose the lunch course Take (Bamboo) — a little indulgent, but still very reasonable for such authentic flavors. The gardens and architecture were breathtaking; I caught myself taking more photos than talking.
Usually it’s a spot for business dinners, but daytime dining is equally wonderful. We even tried the famous bamboo sake at lunch — a small buzz, but in the best way. It felt like a hidden world in the middle of Tokyo. If a friend visits from abroad, this is exactly where I’d proudly take them — a perfect taste of Japan in one place.
Summary Great for family, friends, anniversaries, or special occasions. A meal that’s gentle on the body, yet deeply satisfying for the heart. I’ll definitely return. It’s the kind of place that makes you whisper, “I’m so glad to be alive.” Truly a happy moment.
