a modern izakaya specialized in tofu, very popular, difficult to secure seats unless making reservation way in advance. dishes are incredibly delicious, including the signature dish deep fried tofu in a relatively thick crust, and soy milk crab cream croquette. not tofu related, the pickles are very fresh and crunchy, so good that we reordered a second plate. the agu pork soy milk shabu shabu has exceeded our expectation, very savory, and smooth in texture. the soy milk drink, forgot to take photo, is probably home made, with strong aroma, has very intense soy flavor. been to quite a few tofu restaurants throughout japan, mostly serving traditional dishes, focusing on quality of soy bean or source of water, while this one stands out by its innovative dishes, with high quality soy bean from Saga. they also operate a cafe named Toffee nearby, focused on soy drinks and food, and the soy latte with ginger there is simply incredible. below is japanese translation via software, for the sake of tabelog regulation compliance.
