箱根の宮ノ下にあるホテルで第二次世界大戦以前に建てられ、その建物を維持、文化財や産業遺産などの認定を受けているなどの条件を満たした9ホテルで結成された日本クラシックホテル会のホテルのひとつです。
2020年の大改修後は初めての訪問ですが、雰囲気、サービス、料理の内容とも相変わらず素晴らしいです。
カスケードディナーコースの内容は以下です。
(1)前菜:春キャベツと若鶏のプレッセ ステンドグラス仕立て
(2)スープ:新玉ねぎのポタージュ(自分)、またはコンソメスープ(連れ)
(3)魚料理:連子鯛のポアレ 浅利のナージュ仕立て
(4)メイン:牛肉の南仏風煮込み(自分)、国産牛ロース肉のロースト グリーンペッパーソース(連れ)
(5)デザート:ガトーショコラとバニラのアイスクリーム メルバソース

お酒は自分はソムリエ選択のペアリングワイン(4種)で連れは冨士屋ホテルのクラフトビールです。
ワインリストは以前と比較して減った気はしますが(周りのお客さんを見てもワインを飲んでる人は少数派なのでしょうがないと思います)、どの料理も美味しいですし食器やカトラリー(すべてシルバー)なども素晴らしいです。
