This is the kind of place you’d never find unless a local told you about it. For food lovers who enjoy hunting down true hidden gems, this spot will absolutely hit the mark. To be honest, part of me almost wants to keep it a secret.
The reason it isn’t well known is simple: the location isn’t convenient. It’s technically in Nagoya, but from Chayagasaka Station on the Meijo Line, it’s about a 15–20 minute walk. Unless you’re coming here on purpose, it’s not an area you’d casually pass through.
That said, any inconvenience is more than made up for by the quality of the ramen. The tonkotsu-based soup is rich yet balanced, paired with curly noodles kneaded with egg. The texture is wonderfully chewy and comforting—one of those bowls that quietly leaves a lasting impression.
The signature dish here is the tamago-toji ramen, which is absolutely essential. There are other famous tamago-toji ramen shops in Aichi Prefecture, but people who’ve tried both often end up praising this one the most—and that alone should set expectations fairly high. Personally, my favorite is the Taiwan tamago-toji ramen, which blends the local Taiwanese-style spice with the gentle richness of beaten egg. The balance of heat, depth, and softness is spot on.
I’ve been coming here for over ten years now, and the quality has never wavered. It doesn’t chase trends; it simply continues to serve a consistently excellent bowl of ramen, year after year. That quiet confidence is what makes this place special.
I truly hope the owner stays healthy and keeps this flavor alive for years to come.
(On a personal note, this is my first post in a while. Things have been hectic, and I somehow ended up with over 100 drafts saved. Hopefully next year, I’ll be posting a bit more regularly.)
