箱根登山鉄道「風祭駅」から徒歩約7分、国道1号線沿いに佇む趣のある日本家屋が目印です。食べログでは長年にわたり高評価を維持し、The Tabelog Awardでは2023年から2025年までSilver賞を連続受賞
さらに、うなぎ百名店にも2018年から2024年まで選出され、その実力は折り紙付き。店内は和の趣が漂う落ち着いた空間で、カウンター席やテーブル席があり、観光客だけでなく地元の方々にも親しまれています。
今回は開店前の朝10時45分に訪問しましたが、すでに駐車場には多くの車が並び、その人気の高さに驚きました!受付では「30分ほどお待ちいただきます」と案内されましたが、外を少し散策していると10分ほどで呼ばれ、思ったよりも早く入店できました
注文したのは看板メニューの「うな重」✨
こちらでは希少な青うなぎを使用しており、通常の約1.7倍の大ぶりな身が特徴です。炭火でじっくりと焼き上げたうなぎは、外はパリッと香ばしく、中はふっくらと柔らかい絶妙な食感。一口食べると炭火の香りと甘タレが絡み合い、口いっぱいに広がります。
脂ののりも程よく、濃厚な味わいながらも重たさを感じさせず、ご飯との相性も抜群
箸が止まらず、一口ごとに幸せを感じる美味しさでした✨
付け合わせの漬物はシャキシャキとした食感で口直しにぴったり。お吸い物は出汁の風味が優しく広がり、うな重の味を引き立てます。さらに、店員さんの細やかな気配りや丁寧な接客も心地よく、最後まで快適な時間を過ごせました

Unagi-tei Tomoei is one of Japan’s most renowned eel specialty restaurants, located in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture✨
It’s about a 7-minute walk from Hakone Tozan Railway’s “Kazamatsuri Station” and is easily recognizable by its traditional Japanese-style house along National Route 1.
Highly rated on Tabelog for many years, the restaurant has consecutively won the Silver award in The Tabelog Awards from 2018 to 2025
It has also been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 eel restaurants from 2018 to 2024, proving its well-deserved reputation.
The calm, traditional Japanese ambiance with both counter and table seating is loved by both tourists and locals.
We visited at 10:45 AM before opening, but the parking lot was already filled—proof of its immense popularity!
Although the staff mentioned a 30-minute wait, we were pleasantly surprised to be called in just about 10 minutes
We ordered the signature unajū (grilled eel over rice)✨
The restaurant uses rare “blue eel,” known for being approximately 1.7 times larger than regular eel.
Carefully grilled over charcoal, the eel is crisp on the outside, tender and fluffy on the inside, with a perfect balance of texture and flavor.
Each bite releases a smoky aroma and sweet-savory tare sauce that harmonizes perfectly with the rice
Despite its rich taste, the eel doesn’t feel heavy, making it easy to enjoy until the last bite✨
The side dishes, including crisp pickles and clear soup with delicate dashi flavor, further enhance the overall dining experience.
Additionally, the staff’s attentive service and warm hospitality made the meal even more enjoyable
