広大な敷地に佇むお屋敷と手入れの行き届いた日本庭園
100年以上の歴史があるそうで入り口から荘厳な雰囲気
案内されたのは2階の八坂の塔が眺められる景色の良い広い和個室
まずは京都らしく緑茶と食前酒からスタート
前菜はお上品な白い京都の胡麻豆腐
もちっとしていて枝豆や雲丹と合わせてさっぱり
椀物は高級魚のクエのお吸い物
身がしっかりしていてお出汁が繊細で上品
丸めた湯葉やレンコンの触感が良い
お造りは季節もののハモ
よくある湯引きではなく焼いて急速に冷やしているそう
香ばしさとプリッとした食感があり湯引きよりおいしいと思った
お次はインパクトのある八寸
小鉢がいくつか乗っていてどれも手が込んでいる
特にとうもろこしのかき揚げと剣先イカのお刺身がおいしかった
自家製の鮒寿司は発酵の香りが強く独特な味だけど伝統を感じる一品だった
メインのお肉は北の赤牛
赤身でさっぱりしていて山椒の醤油やレバーペーストと不思議な組み合わせ
梅のデザートでお口直しの後は賀茂茄子やふわっと柔らかく脂がのった穴子
お出汁がおいしくて飲み干した
ご飯は夏らしい鮎と万願寺唐辛子の炊き込みご飯
鮎の香ばしい身や少し苦みのある内臓とシャキッと新鮮な万願寺唐辛子が合う
デザートはひんやり冷たい白玉やフルーツ入りの水物
最後はあんこ入りのよもぎ餅とあたたかいお抹茶で締めくくり
どのお料理も丁寧で伝統的で季節感のあるラインナップだった
振り返って見えなくなるまで女将さんたちが見送ってくれ徹底したホスピタリティも感じた
