【再訪2】:素晴らしき”蕎麦前”の世界!皇居内の桜は一分咲きなれど「一茶庵」の桜切りは春爛漫満開
【皇居一般公開Rve 】
3/25~3/31までの1週間。皇居坂下門から乾門までの約500mと東御苑が桜見物のため一般公開されるとNewsで知る。しかも来年は乾門が工事に入るため、桜見物の公開は2年先までないらしい。
情報によれば桜の開花状況は1分~2分咲き。しかし3/31までの公開だと、週末は今日/明日の2日間しかない。
開園時間は10:00~15:00。その後の”蕎麦前”を『九段下一茶庵本店』で設定し逆算。すると開園と同時に入場することが望ましいことを導き出す。朝9:00に自宅出発し10:00前には現地に到着するが、坂下門前には既に訪日外国人を乗せた貸切バスが数十台停まり、数百人が列を作っている。
DJポリスが注意事項を連呼し、荷物検査~ボディチャックを抜けるまでに30分以上を費やす。日本人って意外とこういったイベント好きなのである(笑)

花見を終え、皇居から千鳥ヶ淵を巡ると丁度「一茶庵」の口開け時間となる。
同じルートを巡って来たと思える先客3組が既にYEBISUで喉を潤している。我々も右へ習えで喉を潤し肴は「蕎麦味噌/板わさ/つくね煮/玉子焼き」。少し肌寒い日だったが、歩いて身体も温まっていたゆえ、日本酒は冷酒で宮城の銘酒「一ノ蔵 超辛口純米」をお願いし、チビチビと舐めるように”蕎麦前”を愉しむ。
昨年訪れた時、変わり蕎麦が秀逸だったことから、私が「二色そば(桜切り/田舎)」を、妻は季節のおすすめ「大山鶏とせりの白だし蕎麦(せいろ)」を〆で頼む。
変わり蕎麦「桜切り」は実に秀逸。口に含んだ瞬間、桜の香りが口から鼻腔を抜け五感一杯に広がる。汁は辛めゆえ、蕎麦を付けると桜の香りが飛んでしまうゆえ、ほんのちょん付で香りと味わいを享受すると、冬から春へ季節が一気に駆け抜ける様な気分になった。

早朝の薄曇りも、昼ごろには爽やかな晴天となった「こどもの日」
大型連休中は比較的天候に恵まれ、家族連れやカップルを中心に、都内各処も大勢の人で賑いをみせている。大手旅行会社の調べでは、今年は「沖縄」や北陸新幹線効果の「金沢」を抑えて、国内目的地のトップは「東京」だそうだ。
TDRや東京スカイツリー効果もあるが、北陸新幹線が開通したことによる、地方からの逆流入が増えたと分析されている。
しかし、呑兵衛親爺にとっては無縁な情報。
「さぁ、何処に行こうか?」親愛なる友と待ち合わせ、はとバス観光客で賑う二重橋を横目に、桜田門~大手門~九段下へと歩みをすすめる。
栃木足利「一茶庵 本店」の流れを汲む『九段下一茶庵本店』が本日の目的店。宇都宮勤務時代、足利にも一度訪問した事があったが「蕎麦前」ははじめて。普段は企業が密集する九段下ゆえ、多くの人が行きかう場所なれど、流石に連休中とあり喧騒を感じることはない。
口開けは11:30、こんなオフィス街に客が来るのか?との心配をよそに、開店と同時に我々以外に3組が伝統の暖簾をくぐる。先ずはYEBISUで喉を潤し、定番の「焼き味噌/玉子焼き」などを「肴」に戦闘開始だ。

前日、多摩の名店「車家」で絶品の「鴨ロース(鴨の炙り焼き)」を堪能し、まだ余韻が残っている。旨さを比較する意味でも敢えて「鴨の陶板焼き」もお願いする。
ビールを空け高知の銘酒「司牡丹 超辛口純米」の冷に変え「焼き味噌」を舐める。辛口の酒が喉に染みわたりスゥーと腸(はらわた)に落ちてゆく。
ジュウジュウと心地佳い音を響かせ「鴨の陶板焼き」が運ばれて来た。酒は本日のお奨め「手取川 特別純米」に変わっている。七色を振り掛け「鴨」を口に運ぶ。炙りと陶板焼きの違いがあるが、濃厚さでは「一茶庵」に1日の長ありか?(全体的な印象は炙りに軍配をあげたい)
〆は「せいろ/変わり蕎麦/田舎」から2種類を選べる「二色そば」
花番に「変わり蕎麦」を尋ねると珍しい「オレンジ切り」、舟形の器に鮮やかなオレンジ色と乳白色の「せいろ」が並ぶ。細切りされた蕎麦は香りと腰を兼ね備え、江戸前の辛めのつゆと見事なハーモニーを奏でる(蕎麦つゆは「並木」10とすると6~7の辛さ)
蕎麦にオレンジが合うのか?と一瞬思うが、これが見事な風味を醸し出す。「変わり蕎麦」は香りの少ない一番粉に練り込むのだが、蕎麦と喧嘩させず合わせる素材の風味を粋に感じるのが実に愉しい。
最後は「田舎蕎麦」極太黒褐色の極みで、これぞ「田舎」というべき逸品。ビンビンと来る蕎麦の香りと、弾力ある食感もなかなか面白かった。
素晴らしき"蕎麦前"の世界!変わり蕎麦の醍醐味を味わう季節のそば切り。
更科系には年間24種類の季節のそば切りがあるという。これからの季節、けし・ごま・葛…変わり蕎麦を愉しむのも一興かも知れない。
