高台寺に程近い、閑静な佇まい。玄関前のお出迎えからおもてなしは始まる。
ミシュランガイドの3つ星は今年で16年連続の獲得。日本食に宿る心、美意識、技術、価値観のすべてをかけてユネスコ文化資産にまで押し上げた 村田吉弘氏の本拠だ。
素晴らしい膳だった。細やかなおもてなしの心意気と超一流の技が織りなす料理の数々。目にも舌にも絶品だ。最近はフルコースのランチをいただくと夕食はほとんど手を付けないことも多いのだが、この日は違った。夜、いつもの時間には心地よい空腹感を覚えた。医食同源とは、まさにこのことだ。

冷酒は、菊乃井純米吟醸、次に菊乃井純米大吟醸をいただいた。澄んだ菊の井の名水に想いを馳せながら味わった。
