台北庶民の熱気に圧倒される、南機場夜市の賑わい。
食の屋台が密集していて、ジャンルごとに出店する通りを分けているほど。
なかでも、此処南機場の名物といえば水餃(シュイジャオ)で、何軒ものお店が近接して覇を競います。
久しぶりにやってきた、一番人気の「來來水餃店」さん。
間口の広い大店ですが、立錐の余地もないほど込み合って、店内は熱気ムンムン。
餃子の皮を延ばし、具を詰めて湯に投じて、リズミカルな流れ作業には、何人もの屈強そうな男たちが全力でとりかかっています。
何とか、テーブルに空きを見つけて、冷蔵庫から小菜を選んできます。
黄瓜(NT30)、豬耳、皮蛋豆腐、ハチノスの和え物(各NT40)と、旨いものに枚挙に暇がないけれど、此処で食べすぎてしまうと、水餃が入らなくなってしまうから要注意。
豬耳の和え物には、いわゆるツラの皮や赤青唐辛子が和えてあって、お味も抜群でした。
その時々で、季節のもの等々、少しずつ変化があるようです。
台湾で水餃子を食べるとき、欠かせないのが酸辣湯(スーラータン/NT40)。
細切り豆腐、溶き玉子、ニンジンなどの野菜が豊富だし、パクチーもたっぷり。
台湾人必須の酸辣湯ですが、此処のは酸味も穏やかで飲みやすいから、日本人も必ず頼むべきですね。
そして、いよいよ水餃(10份NT60@NT6)が運ばれてきました。
大きな寸胴で、頃合いを見計らって茹で上げた、まさに茹でたて熱々!
一口パクリ!
いやはや、本場の水餃に敵うものはありませんね。
もっちもちの皮は延ばしたて、包みたて、茹でたて!
ちょっと唐辛子をぶち込んだ香醋と醤油をちょこんとつけて、いくらでも。
食べだすと、もう止まらない。
一皿10個など、いつもわけなくペロリですね!
近隣には、同じ通りに水餃のお店が何軒も固まって立地しています。
この來來さんだけが旨いというわけではなく、それぞれにいつもお得意さんが。
グループで出かけた場合など、注文を控えめにしながら、はしごしてみるのも一興ですね。
