朴子(プーズー)の古い街角を歩いていきます。
視界に飛び込んできたのは、笹を結んだ粽を、大きな笊に積み上げた、堪らなくシズルな光景。
ひなびた雰囲気で粽を売る、昔ながらのご商売です。
店頭には、蒸籠が重ねられ、湯気が勢い良く立ち上ぼります。
こんな光景を見せられては、どうしたって1つ食べてみなくては!

手渡されたら、うわっ、あちち!
熱々のタコ糸と笹を解いていくと、中からは艶々のおこわ。
一口齧ると、しっとり炊けた餅米の旨さがふんわり!
一粒一粒の解けも良いし、これは旨いですね。
食べ進めると、大きな叉焼や盬蛋(塩漬けの卵黄)がゴロリ、びっくりするほど具だくさんの豪華版です。
お店には、幾つもの笊に上げられた糯米や花生、叉焼など。
予め硬めに炊いてある餅米にたっぷり具を混ぜ混んで、ひとつひとつ笹にくるんで、そして丹念に蒸しあげる。
これだけの材料から仕上がる量を想像するに、これからお昼、そして夕方と、街の人たちが大勢買いに来るに違いありません。
材料や製造過程が、すべて明らか。
